Being a historic, grade B listed country house so close to Dundee City Centre makes Balmuirfield House an attractive option to be used for weddings, private events, venue hire or even as the backdrop for the latest TV drama.
We already offer the house for private accommodation through our annexe and will have some glamping yurts very soon. We can also offer the house for afternoon tea parties, dinner parties, themed events and wedding venue hire for small intimate weddings (booking for 2025) with prices from £995 for a midweek wedding. The History of Balmuirfield House
Dundee once had a thriving jute and textiles industry. Balmuirfield House was originally a dower house built for the widow of Balmuir Estate, built alongside the boating lake/dam that powered the turbines that fed directly into the mill. Later in its life it became a hotel, then one of Dundee's only four star Bed and Breakfasts before becoming a private residence once again. Read the full history here:
